Where can I buy some 35mm Tri-X locally in Sarasota?
All the local photography stores have closed except Johnson's and they don't carry or process film.
In the winter I can order from B&H, but this time of year the UPS/USPS trucks get to 160 degrees, and I"m too cheap to pay FedEX to fly in a few rolls of film. I hate to drive all the way to North Tampa Photo for it, but if that's what it takes....
Thanks

You are over thinking the temperature issue in UPS trucks. Film from B&H will come in a larger over case with bubble insulation. The temperature of the film may rise a few degrees, not will not be harmed in the trip. If it is sent 2nd day for faster, it is only on a truck for a few hours from the terminal to your house. Even by ground, I would not expect a problem.

It's not just temperature, but time and temperature that counts. The effect can be estimated using the Arrhenius Rate Law (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrhenius_equation) integrated over time. This method is used to estimate the shelf life of products, including pharmaceuticals. Similar models are used to estimate the effects of radiation, including TSA inspections.

If you insist on driving to North Tampa, buy enough film each that you don't suffer I-75 traffic any more than necessary, and combine it with other errands if possible.

I thought temperatures were much more an issue with color film.

I ordered Tri-X from B&H last time, a couple of years back now. Sad, I asked at my favourite local camera store; I think they actually had a few rolls of some sort of color film, no chance of Tri-X, or any b/w for that matter.

I buy film all the time from New York City (Adorama) and have it shipped UPS to Northern California (now 100 degrees outside) including Kodak Tri-X, Ektar, Portra 160, Fuji Acros and Pro 400H....never a problem with the film.
