There are various deals where you need to buy a DSLR body plus one or more lenses. The higher-end bodies will quality you for discounts with higher-end lenses.

This deal expires on November 22, but most likely it will be extended throughout the holiday season. The following is B&H's link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/promotion/10383/nikon-buy-together-and-save.html

My local camera store worked this out with me back in 2010. At the time there was a similar body + lens rebate, but I thought it was just one lens, so I bought a D7000 (then a brand new model) and a 70-200mm/f2.8 AF-S VR. Two weeks later, I wanted a 24-120mm/f4 AF-S VR also. The store let me "return" the original purchase and then sold me the one body, two lens combo on the same receipt, and I got discounts on both lenses.

The key is that Nikon requires everything to be on the same receipt. You can buy one body and 10 lenses if you want, and you can get the discount on all 10 lenses. (I haven't seen the fine prints, but I assume that those 10 lenses have to be all different. I doubt that you can get discounts on three 70-200mm/f2.8 AF-S VR with one body purchase.)

Can't hurt to check with B&H. Hopefully you are still within the return period.

I called B&H first thing this morning. I plead my case and the first guy took notes. Then a second guy called me an hour

later. They not only honored the $400 70-200 2.8 discount, but also honored the $200 discount on the D610 body AND

threw in a free remote. So in essence I got a $600 discount on the lens I have always wanted but beyond my reach.

I know this sounds corny, but B&H has been like family.

Congrats that's great news! I am thinking about making some purchases and was researching price drop guarantees last night, so your post was quite relevant. Not sure what Adorama's policies are, I'm liking their bundle of freebies a little better than BH's but the price drop guarantee might be the deciding factor.
