Matt Laur
It's difficult to tell. Is this an advertisement?
michaelmowery
Gimmick stand. I would never buy one. You save less than 2 seconds in closing it as you don't have to bend over and turn a knob.

michaelmowery
You don't need to send a video. We all know what an automatic stand is. You are obviously in some sort of sales. This is not a post another photographer would present. I think you should make your point if u have one and stop trying to push this lame stand. twmeyer
The old Redwing Quick-stand was good. Unless a drunk falls on it. I have the large version still, and it is quite robust.

I replaced the small version (after the drunk crushed one leg) with a Denny EZ Stand, which is not as good. I use them when transporting a small light and small umbrella at an event or when using a small light to photograph interiors quickly. They work well in crowded rooms, or when a set up light and modifier needs to be carried from one room to another.

This post does seem like a clumsy and somewhat devious sales pitch. I'm not interested, primarily because of your sales technique, "Eric"... t

stevesint
I had two old Redwing stands and I loved them. When they finally died, not from a drunk but from being used for years, I replaced them with two of the Cheetah lightweight copies of the Redwing and they are both still soldiering on. I tried the heavier version (such as Mr Jiang is touting) made by Redwing and found they and the light on top of them made them too heavy to safely handle one-handed (which was the point of the lightweight Redwing and Cheetah versions).
Steve Sint
twmeyer
That's true. But two handed assistants still find them much easier to move through a crowded room. And they hold a mono-light just fine…t
