W/NW Medium Format Photo of the Month: January 2015

<p>I've got to kick of the MFPotM thread a day early this time. Post 'em if you got 'em. Feel free to include as much or a little detail as you like. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have been working on over the holiday season! I went to a local park packing my Hasselblad 500C, a Bogen tripod, a roll of Kodak TMax 100ASA, and an ancient Gossen-Luna Pro light meter. Got a couple of decent shots and burned a few hundred calories hiking that gear around....</p><div></div>

<p>Thank you very much, E. Those logs are really whole trees stripped of branches. I estimate that the pile was 100 feet high. A satellite view shows that this is just a wedge of a large circle with a crane in the middle. This was one of the few cases when I wished I was shooting digital to get a fast exposure at night: to the right of the photo the crane operator was stacking logs on the pile and the lights from his gondola were shining a blue-white light through the dust kicked-up by the logs he was stacking. It looked like something out of Blade Runner. I could get close too, since he was right above the fence. It was a sight! I did the best with what I had.</p>
