Early June is the time for Catalpa trees (also know as the "fish bait" or "string bean" trees) to bloom. The Catalpa by my driveway forms a tunnel over the drive and garden paths that gets covered with fragrant white blossoms - sometimes so deep that the form drifts.

00ceaM-549169284.jpg.ff8cabafd296ac2fb0b199eb21613721.jpg

A normally skittish Texas Spiny Lizard decided to pretend he was invisible and posed for 10 minutes at the base of a tree at the head of a trail - long enough to shoot his portrait without having to chase him around the trunk. (D800, 28-300VR, f8, 1/50)

00ced3-549180084.jpg.aa8d60eda3e3b48babc1ae71fbfad879.jpg
