david_smith110
A7 and ML 50/1.7 again, but no Close Up lens this time. This shot is actually straight out of the camera except for the reddish/sepia tone I added in post. I shot it with the camera low down in the high grass. The Yashica was wide open as I focused on the old scraggly tree in the distance. This blurred out the high grass which ended up looking like a dreamy flame effect.

night after night the burning tree returned to me in my dream

Andy Collins
David Smith--Great shots! Number 2 is awesome but number three is my favorite because of both the picture and the quote. My parents took me to see that movie when I was a kid and as much as I loved it, that monolith spooked me more than I ever cared to admit. HAL was a bit creepy too!
david_smith110
Andy- Im very glad you liked the shots. And Im especially glad you enjoyed the 2001 reference. I was really hoping someone here would appreciate it. :)

In case you havent seen it, there is an Epic Rap Battle of History between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Very high quality production and incredibly amusing. But the best is that HAL makes an appearance at the end. Creeeeepy as ever. Give it watch if you get a chance.
