alex_coulter
The mode dial plate on my Canon 6D came off (this seems to be a problem with this camera as reported by many users). Can I put it back on myself by using glue (is there a specific kind that works best) or do I need to send it in to Canon to put it back on? My camera is not under warranty so I would have to pay for the repair and shipping charges.
PuppyDigs
Do you mean the labeled cap on top of the dial? If so, clean off the old double-stick tape and reseat with new tape. If the cap is damaged a new one is $10 and comes with tape installed. Realize it's a moving part so if glue gets in the wrong place you might be stuck in Tv mode for eternity. My 6D is one year old and so far so good and I managed to break several mode dials in the past. Probably forgot to press that lock button...
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
