francisco_urrea1
Hello,
I'm thinking about modifying a polaroid 250 to make a 4x5 format camera and I find that the chamonix saiber is very similar to what I'd like to do. But when I see the pictures I can clearly see that the bellows system is rescued from a polaroid land camera which are not 4x5 but 3,25x4,25.
Does anybody out there can confirm my suspicion?

jean_yves_mead
Don't forget that the roll-film Polaroid cameras had a similar frame size with instant film, and are regularly converted to 5x4 sheet film with full coverage.
charles_mason
I own a Saber. It does indeed shoot 4x5 negatives. There is a tiny downscaling from normal 4x5 cameras, as the bellow slighly trims the images. So you have an image with the edge about 1/16" from each edge of the rail that hold the film in the holder, with clear film on the outside. Thus you don't get an image that looks like the holder edges and notch code exposed. But it is almost 4x5, or is for all practical purposes.
