jo_mikis
Hello is there any possible way to fire YN 560 II in HSS mode. The reason i ask this is that i want a cheap hss flash with an external power output
JosvanEekelen
The easiest way is to buy a hss flash :-) Converting a non HSS flash to HSS seems to be difficult IMHO. You'd have to redesign the electronics.
HSS sync puts out a series of short flashes, I don't think there is an easy way to trick a flash in doing this.
jo_mikis
another problem with that is that most of the cheap hss flashes ex. YN dodnt have the external power output .
mihai_ciuca
Look for a Triopo TR-981N TTL HSS unit. This flash does work with an external battery pack.

rodeo_joe1
It's not just the flash involved in HS synch. Most digital SLRs need an HSS enabled flash to be inserted in the hotshoe before they'll allow synchronisation above their X-synch speed. The fact that the flash output changes to a fast flicker mode is secondary to being able to force the camera to trigger on the opening of the first blind, instead of when it's fully open.

However, once you have an Auto-FP or HSS flash attached to the camera, then it's possible to synch almost any other flash with the camera using the P-C socket, since the P-C socket will follow synch with the hotshoe.

I know that Nissin's Di866 flash supports Auto-FP/HSS, and isn't too expensive compared to the big marque speedlights/speedlites.
