<p>I got to visit Shiloh National Battlefield on Saturday to take photos of the two eagles that are nesting there. It was so much fun, but I didn't really get the shots I hoped to get. Hopefully, I'll get some in-flight next time. Their names are Hiram and Julia and they are nesting in a pine tree right on the side of the road next to a big clearing. This is Julia with a bad hair day.</p>

<p>Went on a short hike with my wife in the South San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley area. It is the chip maker Marvell on the right and Dell Computer on the left. In the center is the new Levi Stadium for the San Francisco 49ers, although that building is actually further away to the south, not that close to the Freeway 237 in front.</p>

<p>I would imagine that Matt actually used the Sigma 35mm/f1.4 lens on his D600, instead of the DX-style 30mm/f1.4.</p><div></div>

<p>Yes, Shun, you're right! Feel free to edit that, if you can. I have both of those lenses, and they are NOT the same thing! :-)</p>

<p>Matt, I don't have the ability to edit captions on images. I am sure a DBA can go into Oracle to change it, but 30mm stays for now.</p>

<p>There's a heron at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge that often sits very close to the trail.</p><div></div>

<p>Our neighbor lost his barn to a fire last week. <br />Due to a 5 week drought and strong winds there is a ban on open fires at present. In nearby counties many families have lost their homes and livestock to the recent fires. Hundreds of acres of land has been scorched. The fire brigade was therefore more concerned with spreading than anything else. After a few hours they fortunately had this under control. </p>

<p>I just couldn`t avoid to bring my camera to immortalize this servant`s bathroom in a luxurious apartment, almost intact since late 30s. New pipes I`m afraid, older lead ones were abandoned but not removed. The main bathroom is enormous and had to be impressive, but it was badly modernized for several times.</p><div></div>
