khoi_tran
Hi, My Mamiya C330 is not working any more after my cousin's wedding :( The shutter release on the body will not press down. I took the lens out and was able to cock and release the shutter so it wasn't the lens. However, I can't use the buttons on the body. Can't wind the film either so I'm not sure which part is the problem. Any suggestion before I take it in for repair? By the way, I did release the shutter lock. Thanks, Khoi
sergio_ortega
Khoi, I used to have a c330f that did that several times over the course of about ten years. It would seem to jam for no apparent reason. I never had it professionally repaired because I always managed to get it back to working condition. I never could figure out what caused it, and I never knew exactly what I did to rectify the situation.
I know this sounds like a really crazy description and suggestion, but I would just remove the lens, open up the back, and rotate/work the film wind crank at the same time I would fiddle with the shutter release mechanism, alongside the lens standard, and the film take up spool mechanism . After a bit it would un-jam and clear up.
I don't know what else to suggest, or how else to describe it. Try this before sending it off to a repairperson. Just don't overdo it and break anything! Good luck, Sergio.
graham_patterson
Have you tried setting the multi-exposure control to 'Multi' to enable the shutter releases?
If the shutter lock is off, then it sounds like a jam in the transport / shutter interlock. Opening the camera and removing the takeup spool might help.
mark_hubbard
I returned a "broken" M C330 to a dealer once before I understood all of the interlocks. After figuring it out, I wrote to him with one suggestion, he tried it and his "broken" camera was instantly repaired. It is this: load a roll of film! At least one of the system-jamming interlocks senses the presence of film. Please let me know if this works for you, too. (I own 3 C330's at the moment and have had 3 others as well.) Good luck!
