35mm metering for MF

Hi everyone. I'm getting started in MF and am going to pick up a Mamiya 330C this weekend. I need to test this camera because I have a week to review it. I understand that there is no meter on the camera. Is this true? Now the real question. Since I wouldn't have enough $ left for a meter, how can I use the spot meter on my 35mm Canon Elan to help guide my exposure? For example, if the metering says F 8 at 1/250 sec on the Elan, what should I set the Mamiya at (assuming film ISO is the same)? Thank you in advance for your insights.

This should work fine for you. I recently moved up from 35mm (Canon A2) to a Mamiya 645 Pro. For studio type work I've been using an inexpensive Sheppard flash meter for the last year and still use it, but for outdoors and scenics I just cart along my Canon and use it as a very expensive spot meter. While I intend on picking up a new meter, this has worked very well for me while I rebuild some savings.
