Canon 600D auto-iso and lenses

Hi,
I am writing in behalf of a friend of mine who want to upgrade from Canon EOS 400D to 600D. As I am not a canon user, I am not very familiar with the EOS system and I am asking for help... I would like know if the 600D auto-iso mode works in both manual mode and automatic mode. The idea is to use the Canon 600D in M mode and have the ISO set to auto. This is not possible on the 400D as the auto-iso is not supported in M mode.

The other question is if the EOS 400D kit lenses, the Canon EF-S 18-55mm, can be used on the EOS 600D.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Regards

Yes.
Both cameras will accept "EF-S" mount lenses.
One quick way of confirming this is - the EOS camera will have a WHITE SQAURE as well as a RED DOT, lens alignment marks on the body of the camera.

The 400D does not have an Auto ISO option at all. I think the first in this EOS Camera Series, to have Auto ISO, was the 500D.

Hi Francesco. You may have already got enough information already but as the guy who photographed the EOS 600d and 650d advertising campaigns for EMEA I'd like to confirm what has already been said and also encourage your friend to upgrade to one of these two cameras (or better) since they are way better than the 400 and 450d in so many ways. You can download these brochures from my blog karlblackwell.wordpress.com.
Cheers
