li___
I will be taking pictures during my High Sierra hike in a month. I don't know if a Tiffen Haze-1 UV is enough to block the strong UV rays at that high elevation. Can someone give me any advice? Thanks.
The film will mostly be Velvia. bob_atkins
The Tiffen Haze-1 UV is very good at UV blocking (in fact it's one of the best UV blockers around). Whether or not you need to block UV is a matter of debate, and whether a warming filter or a polarizer would be equally useful or better (more useful and/or effective) is also a matter of debate. Depends on what you expect the filter to actually do for you
robd
This is not really an answer to your question but here's my 2 cents worth. You might want to also bring along a graduated neutral density filter, to equalize out the big difference in exposure between the sky and the mountains when taking scenic shots.
Have a nice trip....Wish I was there....
Rob
