I can't imagine anything humorous about taking advantage of these poor folk who have been committed to this institution for care of their psychiatric problems.

Isn't that pretty much exactly what most street photography's all about? Objectifying, disrespecting and demeaning the unfortunate?

No. Of course if that's your view and what you are looking for, I'm sure you'll find some. Have you ever tried street shooting?

Keith -- For someone who does some stunning bird photography, I'm surprised at some of your recent posts that seek to deny photography as being an art form and that seemingly reduce street photography to such a crude stereotype as posted above. Photography, and street photography along with it, has been institutionally and legally recognized as an art form for decades. Your personal opinions are your own (and certainly not unshared by others) and I respect them. You owe me no explanations, but I confess that I find them somewhat puzzling in the face of contrary evidence.

Puzzling? I find the assertion preposterous. I think that's somewhat like saying, "Isn't that pretty much exactly what most Photoshop work is all about? Substituting people's heads on other people's bodies to disrespect and demean them?" (Actually that would make a shred more sense in the context of the thread.)

Keith, I generally enjoy your posts, but... come on! Lately you've been on a rather dark streak!
