<p>Happy New Year, and of course a Happy Nikon Wednesday to everyone. I just checked the Mayan calendar, and it looks like these two celebrated events won't coincide again for another 340 years.<br /><br />Just a simple memento from me: this is the last sunset of 2013, seen over the local horizon. Some impossibly persistent oak leaves are toughing it out until spring, and I'll take that as a queue for my own resolve. Hope everyone is in good company and travels safely tonight. <p>This is Mr. Zhang, Beijing's last fountain pen repairman. He has a small shop, is open every day from 3 to 5 PM, and is 85 or 86 years old now. A very nice gentleman.</p><div></div>

<p>One of my little nephews received this light that that changed colour on Christmas day. I asked my cousin to hold it under his face in a dark room. This is what I got.</p>
