New MFD Maintainer Required

The time has come for me to try to hand over to somebody else.

Increasing work committments mean that I no longer have time

to maintain this digest as well as I should.

I am therefore looking for a volunteer to take over!

The system is entirely web-based, so you should have a fast

connection to the web (i.e. not really via a modem!).

All that is required is to weed out unsuitable messages,

categorise the rest and generally keep an eye on the system.

This is ideally done once every day or 2 to keep the system in trim

(something I've been unable to do lately).

A knowledge of medium format is preferred!

If you feel you have the time and knowledge to do this please enail me direct to L.S.Davis@exeter.ac.uk justifying how it would be wonderful

for MFD readers for you to take on the job!

I will endeavour to tidy up the system in time for any new

maintainer.

Thanks!

A new MFD maintainer is still required - deathly hush and all that.

Please be aware that you do NOT need to run MFD on your site!

All this is kindly done by Phil Greenspun at his photo.net web site.

As maintainer you simply *access* the MFD pages VIA the web just like

any reader except you have certain extra rights via password protection.

These include the power to edit messages, delete messages, categorise

messages and to maintain the list of email subscribers.

The web pages themselves are all done automatically by Phil's wonderful software. The email digests are also assembled automatically by Phil's software.

All that the maintainer need to do is to 'login' to the web site

every day or two, tidy up any rogue or duplicate messages,

do a bit of categorising and maybe maintain the list of email alerts.

A reasonable knowledge of MF is required but just as important is

an interest in keeping this digest alive and well by regular maintenance.

Anybody interested?

Thanks.
