PhotoCD 120 size

I have recently added a medium format camera to my equipment.

I often have 35mm negatives transferred to PhotoCD, and am wondering if this is possible from 6cm x 6cm negs.

Does anyone know if it is, and of a reliable source for this service in the U.K.

Thanks for any help.

Richard, this answer may not be of great assistance for the U.K. but here in Sacramento, Ca we do have a lab that will scan trasnparancies on to Photo CD's. However in this case they must dupe the 645 or 6x7 into 35mm before scanning because of equipment limitations. I am not aware of anyone who has direct scan capibilities from various size formats.

Good luck in your search.

Here in Saint Luois MO USA, a local lab with offers photo CD services will scan a medium format or 4x5 transparency to photo CD for about $15.00 US each (after you buy the CD for $20.00). I know that seems expensive since the "amateur grade" scans of 35mm slides cost about $1.50 each, but I have had a lot of trouble with the amateur grade scans; the pro level scans are worth the extra money. If these kinds of services are availible in the Midwest (nice place to live but not exactly the hotbed of cutting edge technology) they must be availible somewhere in your area.

hope this helps

You need to find a lab that does the Pro PhotoCD format.

They can scan negs or slides and you end up with an extra (larger)

image size in the pac. Standard Pro PCD is this 6pac - the larger

file can be up to 72Mb!

2 labs I know of (and I can vouch for one of them!):

www.pcdimage.co.uk

www.dunns.co.uk

I pressed the enter key too soon! Those were 2 separate web sites

I quoted of course.

Beware the costs! Around #6 each for Pro scans.

I am wondering about returning to 35mm, or at least doubling

up as standard Master scans are cheaper or even can do it myself.
