derek_simpson
This function has ceased to work for me and I have spent too much time diagnosing. I have 4 EOS bodies which often need to be in perfect sync for sports events. At present two EOS 1D MKIIn bodies do not connect with either of two computers - Win XP and Win 7 running a variety of updated Canon software. In EOS Viewer Utility I can actually see the window with camera settings but am then told EOS Capture " failed to initialize application". I have reinstalled WIA drivers etc substituted cables and everything that makes sense to me. THe 1DII and 1DsII work without a hitch. Any help appreciated

ed_avis2
Sorry this is not a direct answer but could you take a photograph of a clock (showing seconds and centiseconds) with each camera at the start of the event? That would then show the offset between the camera's time and the clock time, which can be applied to each photo in post-processing.
derek_simpson
Thank you: A worthy workaround I agree and fairly easily managed in Photo Mechanic. Problem is with sport there is usually a pressure to process and transmit ASAP so every delay matters. I like to sort by Capture time so I can see the goal and the celebrations etc and pick quickly what tells the story best. What annoys me is that I used to be able to just set all 4 cameras as a pre-job chore and have no idea what has changed.
