Laura Weishaupt
Well, despite being the most active thread today, we're still not showing up in the box in the front page. It would be nice to get it sorted out. There's a thread about it in site help, so we'll see.
What a stellar day so far. Louis, your B/W is beautiful.
Phil, pretty flight shot of that youngster.
Thom, you're in good company ;)
Jon, really nice surprise.
Mark K. you got that just right. Really pretty.

Nick Davis, welcome to MiN with a handsome hawk. Hope we see more.
Monday is such a great day.
User_6502147
Watching the act of (salmon) spawning is nearly as special, in a different way, as seeing Aurora Borealis. The ritual is not all that complex. Yet, there is this small fish that steals the eggs. Sooo, there is hardly any wonder that between predation, water current, etc., only about 1% that actually survive to adulthood.

anthea50
I found this sitting on my favourite bush in my back yard, a few days after I found all the 28 spot ladybirds. After a bit of internet research (your comments are so spot on, Laura) I think it is a Mandidfly. Apparently they are often mistaken for hornets or wasps, but the long legs are the main indication that it is not. Rather pleased with the way the light is refracted on it's wings, not as pleased that it's head is not so sharp and hidden by the leg. I did try and get another angle but it decided it had had enough and flew off. Ah well...

Bill C1664885404
General question please: Is there any way to include the feature some forums have at the top of a thread to select "Next Unread".....or, to select the reverse order in which photos are displayed? Reason I ask is because occasionally signing in to check for more great photos It's necessary to have to go through the same steps every time of getting to the last page then scrolling down, etc. Just curious, thanks
Laura Weishaupt
Bill, I don't have an answer to this. Are you feeling it necessary to go through each page to get to the end?
paul_de_ley
Late to the party but here's a particularly pretty beefly from Valley of Fire State Park, NV! And yes, my knees still suffer the after effects from all the crouching and shuffling that comes with trying to sneak up on this zippity doodah...

Gup
Bill C, here's how I dealt with your problem.
Go to 'My Workspace' on the top right corner here and click the button. Choose 'Account Options'. Scroll to the bottom and choose 'All' posts to open on a page. Now all you will have to do when returning to a previous read thread is scroll quickly down to where you last left off. It saves a lot of time in busy threads.

Bill C1664885404
BIG improvement !
PS:
I also noticed the line right about it refers to "SORT" order...trying to figure out if / how that might reverse sort the order so the latest / most recent is the first on top every time the thread is opened.
Laura Weishaupt
Gup, thanks for helping out this. I don't generally think about changing these sorts of things, but it's good to learn how.
