I feel for ya.
Six years ago my lllg w/limited edition 35mm screw mount Summicron was stolen from my house.
The attending police officer, who seemed quite knowledgeable in things photographic was confident that once the thieves discovered it was 'just a crappy old film camera'...it would just end up in a dumpster.
I hated the thought.

My condolence. They stole exactly the same setup from me back in 2000...Still top notch equipment, but you'll overcome it like I did. Also had an m8 stolen some months ago, alongside with Super Angulon 21mm, Summilux 35 classic, Summaron 35 2.8...

I'm also already over that one! My Zeiss 25 2.8 is a stellar piece of glass I would have never tried without the loss of the 21. As they say here in Spain, "No hay mal que por bien no venga" Cheer up and forget about getting it back, look forward, good luck!

When this happened to me a few years ago, the man who ran the local camera store had been a police photographer before retiring. He suggested that I ask the detective from the local police department who was assigned to the case to make inquiries, either directly or through other law enforcement agencies, with all of the photo shops within a radius of about 30 miles.
Sure enough, a law enforcement agency in a nearby community found my camera body and lenses in the display case of a photo shop. When the owner bought them, he had asked the person who offered them to see his driver's license as identification, and had kept a photocopy of it in his records. Using this, the police found and confronted the individual, who admitted to the theft. Although the police needed to hold the equipment as evidence for a while, I eventually got most of it back after the District Attorney's office negotiated a plea bargain with the thief's lawyer.
I can't guarantee that trying this will deliver results for you, but it certainly seems worth trying, for something as valuable as an M6 with a Summilux. I also agree with the other suggestions offered here to list the serial numbers of your stolen equipment on the web sites mentioned above.
