The lens turbo roughly add about 1 extra stop. Clicking on the picture will lead you to flickr to see bigger print. hinman Posted November 8, 2013 Author Share Posted November 8, 2013

I have the wrong spelling of the Vietnamese noodle, it should be Bun Bo Hue. The spicy ingredients in the soup is my favorite. But I don't crave too much for the thick white noodle as I always prefer the yellow thin noodle.

And here is a shot of Satay Noodle garnished with cucumber and lime. The yellow noodle was hidden in the spicy and yummy satay sauce with peanuts. It was shot with my K20D and a Sigma EX 50mm f/2.8 macro

<a title="IMGP6644 by hin_man, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7335/9867290853_b890c25982_b.jpg" alt="IMGP6644" width="819" height="1024" />
K20D and Sigma 50mm f/2.8 @ f3.5
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

hinman Posted November 8, 2013 Author Share Posted November 8, 2013

This is a different type of noodle and it is from a Japanese restaurant. The picture was not as nice but you can tell that I have a love affair with noodle. Please keep it a secret.

Sansai Mountain Vegetables Noodle
<a title="Sansai Mountain Vegetables Noodle by hin_man, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8416/10237731756_d3b6e1690d_b.jpg" alt="Sansai Mountain Vegetables Noodle" width="1024" height="680" />

The broth is similar to miso soup and it is filled with all kinds of interesting vegetables such as seaweed, carrots, several kinds of mushrooms, and lots of green unions. The noodle is not exactly soba but a yellow and tangy kind that is a absolute perfect to fill the dinner hunger after a long day with walking. hinman Posted November 9, 2013 Author Share Posted November 9, 2013
I am a sucker for food pictures. Whenever my family dine out on occasions, I am the most annoying dude to my boys that they have to wait and let me have a moment for pictures. With year past, I don't do as much as I used to but I always have my weakest link for food pictures. Here is a shot done way back in 2008 with my K100D and FA 50mm f/1.4. Sometime, I get hungry over going through my pictures.

<a title="IMGP0036 by hin_man, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2064/2855613034_862fd9cee3_b.jpg" alt="IMGP0036" width="1024" height="681" />
Likely Green Dragon Sushi shot with K100D and FA 50mm f/1.4 in 2008
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am the chef in the house. It was my first time cooking Lobster and I thought I would get a burn and dry lobster from my toaster oven, the sauce with real butter, mayonnaise, paprika, garlic helped seal the juicy and tasty beast. It has become our household favorite with guests. I should have garnished it well before picture but my boys have their hands all over the very ready lobster -- gone in minutes after the picture. I am a happy chef in that memorable cooke out.

My favorite inspiration but not so heathy chef is from http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

andrewg_ny Posted November 12, 2013 Share Posted November 12, 2013
Weirdo bokeh with that second shot with the 'Super Takumar 50mm f/1.8, Lens Turbo adapter, Cosina 1:1 macro adapter', lots of un-round highlights. Maybe not surprising considering your 'gear recipe'!

My wife is very into iPhone-agraphing much of what she eats, whether it's something she prepared or in a restaurant.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
hinman Posted November 13, 2013 Author Share Posted November 13, 2013
@Andrew, thanks for the comment I was wrong on the lens info, it should be 55mm f/1.8. I did some exaggeration on the shadow and unfortunately my PP brings out the odd bokeh. Sometime the odder it becomes as in flare and irregular shape of bokeh ring, the more dramatic feeling one gets on the picture. My cosina 55mm f/1.2 always have a oval shape in the bokeh ring lights while my 43mm limited have a hexagon shaped ring lights. If you ask me, I always prefer any bokeh ringed light not to have sharp edges. The oval shapes or halve rounded lights are fine by me. But I do see some overlapping ring lights that can be distracting. The new HD lens in Pentax promise for a more circular blades and I think it will have a difference in the new lenses in terms of more roundness in the bokeh ring.

Dine Well Lunch Box -- An old photo with K100D but with some new processing
<a title="Eat Well Lunch Box by hin_man, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3784/10831826335_d119347d0a_b.jpg" alt="Eat Well Lunch Box" width="1024" height="716" />

The wording has some truth to it. We sometime forget the nourishment from food. We eat what tastes well and I quite often overlook the nourishment part of food.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
