gary_meader Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013
Hi all- I happen to like 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 paper in those small notebooks for digital workflow info. Who needs a whole 8.5 x 11 anyway? BUT, neither of my Epson printers will print on filler paper with pre-punched holes. I've created the right size custom paper size and all that, but the printer will only print the top inch or so, then quit, I think when it sees the punched holes. Am I correct in that, and is there any way to get around it?
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Charles_Webster Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013
have you tried feeding the paper with the holes on the other side, or just a plain blank piece of paper cut to the right size to test your theory?
If it is the holes, just print on plain paper and cut and punch later. I did that to make custom itinerary pages for my European trip.
It's easy enough to lay out the equivalent of lined paper and you can customize pages with fill in the blanks forms for common info.

<Chas>

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
thirteenthumbs Posted May 26, 2013 Share Posted May 26, 2013
The sensor for end of paper is on the right hand edge of the printer so when a punched hole from filler paper goes by the printer sees it as end of page. Load with the punched holes on the left and it should print the full length of the page. The print will not be in sync with loading the paper in a notebook so if that matters get unpunched paper then punch it after printing.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gary_meader Posted May 26, 2013 Author Share Posted May 26, 2013
Yeah, that's what I figured. So, a while back someone suggested a temp fix of masking tape over the holes while printing and, Voila`! It's cumbersome but it works. Thanks
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
