tony_lockerbie
Took the F2 and a seldom used 85mm F2 to a recent classic car show. Instead of shooting the whole cars I concentrated on some details because I reckon it's the small stuff that really catches your eye with these lovely old cars, especially the badges.
I will do some more on the F2 a bit later, just thought I would keep this separate.
A shot of the camera and a couple of lenses that I used.

tony_lockerbie
No, that's not a Cosina 58mm 1.5, it's a 28mm F2...even I can see that! Now some pics.

tony_lockerbie
Hope I haven't bored you too much, but I like old cars and old cameras. More on the F2 and some extra pics that are not cars, soon. The film here was Across developed in Pyrocat HD 1:1:100.
rick_drawbridge
You just can't beat chrome and glossy paintwork when it comes to producing punchy images, and you've done this in spades, Tony. Fine work, indeed; I once had a great old Citroen Big Fifteen and the last image brings back a few memories, as does the 3.8 Jag. We're in the middle of an earthquake swarm down here, and I've taken all the cameras down to floor level before they found their own way down, so your post restored a little sanity to the situation; a nice vintage car show is a cheery thing to contemplate! Many thanks.
User_2019667
Tony,
Very nice shots with the F2. I agree with you that close up shots at a car show are very interesting.
Usually when you try to shoot the entire car you get too many things (other people) that are distracting.
Great job. I do like that old Caddy also.
subbarayan_prasanna
I like vintage cars; I have restored a demob'ed Jeep and a Morris myself; they are as interesting as restoring old cameras and old homes. Thanks for the post. sp.

Andy Collins
Great post, Tony. Old cars are always fun to look at and your close-ups are a nice change. I've got a couple of coworkers (both in their very early 30s, interestingly) who love classic cars and will also enjoy looking at this post.

Rick-be safe!
chuck_foreman1
Nice work .. Gotta love the Buick Lady hood ornament ...and the Jag wow!! Beautiful.. Nice to see the accent on the details . .The complete cars are hard to shoot in this situaton but sexy!!
tony_lockerbie
Thank you all for the positive feedback, filmand classic vehicles are a great mix. There is always a problem with trying to get full shots of cars that are close together and surrounded by people.
I didn't get those side shots of the hood ornaments, and Les, you are right I will crop that one in the print. In retrospect I should have packed the 55mm Micro!
Matthew Currie
I like the 85 at that range. Or maybe it's something about Nikkor 85's, but they look good.
david_estler
Wow! Nice work. I love old film cameras & classic cars. The Cadillac is not a '37 though. It looks to be a '28 or '29.

david_l3
I've had affection for Nikon F2's since buying my first one in 1977. Your nice detailed photos do the camera justice.
