Great. Is there still Friday night polka dancing at Forest Lake?

I don't know, Charles. I'm not much of a polka dancer. I do like accordions though.

There is a general homogenization throughout America. It doesn't matter where you are. Cities and towns are drifting toward sameness and nobody seems to care. You can get a Big Mac no matter where you live.

The Texas Leica can be addictive, take care! There is a certain sadness about abandoned industrial sites, something that is happening here as well because it's all done in China. Ford here are ceasing Australian production in 2015, very sad, and I think GM (Holden) won't be far behind.
The up side is that these areas are great for photography, as can be seen from your pictures.

Alas, a lot of Upstate New York shows signs of previous economic activity, now abandoned.

Here are some buildings in downtown Syracuse, NY. I took these in 2006, just before I left town myself and headed west to Chicago. The red brick color in the setting sun was what attracted me to these buildings.

00bhPC-540273584.JPG.a908e45a904ca0bae7c0acf6f2a5cc71.JPG

I loved the texture, detail of the pics, but mostly the melancholy feel of the set. Really enjoyed them.

Talking about abandoned sites, you might enjoy viewing the pictures in this photo book, "Left Behind" (might be better to view in full screen mode with the button at bottom right). It was done by my son about four years ago, for his Photography class project while he was a Junior in high school.
