michael_chuang1
Very nice indeed. What is that jellyfish-oid thing in the foreground of the lake photograph? Also like the embedded self-portraits in the camera pictures.

steve_mareno1
My first TLR (although mine was nowhere near as nice as yours Gene). The shots are really, really good. My favorite is the hay bales w/ the tree behind them, but there are several that are equally as good, like the bench w/ tulip motif. Neat tiny self portraits too :) You've considerably raised the bar for the rest of us.
rick_drawbridge
Fine images, Gene, from a great camera. All good, I like the lake pano very much. I've been reading the history of your Quabbin project; fascinating and somewhat disturbing, but it did create some great locations. Not to mention the fishing...
chuck_foreman1
Wow Gene.. as someone said .. you raised the bar a biot here! I think you've featured this camera before. I think we all should come back to our favorites even if we'Ve posted them before. I too like the hay bales and the wheat shock. The sea of flags was well done as the DOF was just right. You Automat is in excellent condition. My Rollei is already much worse.
gene m
I don't think you guys will have any trouble with a raised bar. I'm certain you're experienced with bars in general.
ken_jeanette1
Good one Gene, and great pics. Yep, bars are my favorite, and possibly that Schneider Lens. Are they the Rodney Dangerfield of lens makers? I see them on so many cameras, yet no one seems to put them on a pedestal like Leica or Zeiss glass.

gene m
"no one seems to put them on a pedestal like Leica or Zeiss glass."
Lens fanaticism is boring. In fact, I find any fanaticism boring. Hell, much of the time it's downright dangerous.

tony_lockerbie
Whatever the camera these pics are a pleasure to look at. I know a camera is a camera, and some say the hardware doesn't matter, which is true to a great extent, but a truly nice camera still is a pleasure to use.
The Rolleis are a great example of this, built by folks who cared and wanted the cameras to last. I have many Rolleis, Tessar, Planar and Xenar lenses...not much in it apart from max apertures.
The building that you featured here and with the Sporti, can you tell what that was?

starshooter
Fabulous camera. I wish I still had mine. It fell apart. Interestingly, my Yashicamat is still takin' pictures and I've used it for more years than I had the Rollei. I'm not saying the Yashicamat is built better, I'm just saying this was my experience. You never know.
