A good Wednesday to everyone, and best of luck to all those in Oklahoma who have gone through that wicked round of tornadoes.

We're lucky out east, where it's merely becoming warm and swampy. But it makes for some good early morning walks and photography opportunities. A few weeks back a did a session with a client's new French Bulldog pup. Just the other day, out for some early morning camera time at a local market, I ran into that same pup. It was, in turn, running into a 165-pound "pup" of a seven month old brindle mastiff. The big mastiff just wanted to swap smells and play - but the Frenchie wasn't sure at all how to process that huge galoot of a dog. As you can see.

You've been out and about. Let's see what you saw.

00bfP0-538395584.jpg.cf282d1065d23cfb1c8e2c8d5a0731ce.jpg

I ended up at a youth hockey tournament last month and I finally got through all the shoots. It was surprising to see how much intensity 7 year old's can have. They use blue pucks because they are a little lighter.
00bfPB-538401584.jpg.732a1ca19a93d9994489f676f6cb9757.jpg

Last Sunday was at or near the peak of wildflower season on top of Dog Mountain, which is on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. Balsamroot (yellow) dominates the landscape, mixed with a bit of lupine (purple) and Indian paintbrush (red). It was windy up there, necessitating a faster shutter speed.

You have to work to get this view; the one-way hike is three miles long and mostly straight up with switchbacks -- there are few stretches of flat trail. But I was happy I did it (wheeze, wheeze, pant, pant) :-)

00bfPS-538409584.jpg.0a71bbfb190dafbe20ba4b57a74416f9.jpg

Last weekend I went to investigate what my dogs were furiously barking at in our backyard and I found this woodchuck hiding and trying to protect himself in a brush pile. Nice teeth, but he really should floss.

00bfQe-538425584.jpg.2466354d66382f6d480336e3dae1cfe0.jpg
