Roger Maris 61st home run photo

I'm definitely not a Yankee fan, but IMO, this is one of the great, iconic American sports photo's of all-time. However, it's always bothered me the lighting makes it look like a night game, when in fact it was an afternoon game. I'm not a photographer, but would like to know if anyone has ever "fixed" this photo to make it more true to the actual lighting conditions? <br>

<p>Ron, as a PN rule we are not allowed to post any photo we did not take ourself. Expect the moderators to remove it.</p>

<p>As far as editing the image, I am of the practice of only editing my own work although I know a few retouchers who do it for their business. Chances are unless a museum or other organization wants to change it for a particular reason it should stay as the photographer intended (not to mention copyright restricts us playing with it in the first place)</p>

<p>Thanks very much for your response James! IMO, the photo looks more dramatic than it would have with more "accurate" daylight lighting. I'd still love to see it anyway. I'll probably write the photographer.<br>

He died in 1998.</p>

<p>I could me mistaken, but I believe the photo shown is actually the 60th home run, hit the night before he hit his 61st. There is a similar picture of his sixty-first home run that is very similar, but clearly shows it hit during the afternoon.</p>
