Member69643
As one of them old guys that likes to shoot film, a day devoted to film photography seems an oxymoron. It's like a national haircut day for bald guys. Ok, poor analogy, but really, did we need the folks at Lomography to tell us to go shoot some film? How many of you got out your dusty Canon AE-1 or Minolta X-700 for today's "big" event?

Me? I dropped a roll of Ilford Delta 3200 into my Nikon F2 Photomic, and some Kodak Gold 100 went into my Minolta Maxxum 7. Shot a few pictures with each. More over the weekend. :)
john_h.1
Where's the oxymoron?
clay2
Film Photography in the Film and Processing forum, ha!
Its redundant but does seem oxymoronic at first glance.
Best regards,
/Clay

mike_pallas
Didn't know about it. I've been shooting colour neg film regularly these days. Nevertheless, I think we film enthusiasts could be swimming against the tide of change. I like this lomography thing because it keeps people shooting film. I like the look of film because I'm kind of old fashioned.
keith selmes
There seems to be a day for everything now.
Worldwide Pinhole Day is the one on my calendar.
Having a day and a site for it kick me into doing it instead of just thinking about it.
It also makes me deal with whatever the weather happens to be on that day.

keith selmes
But hang on - World Photography Day is on August 19th http://www.worldphotoday.org/

So April 12th is Lomography World Film Photography Day. I could have obliged by getting out the Chaika I suppose, but it's already the 13th.
I did finish drying and filing two rolls of 35mm yesterday, but nothing to do with Lomography, nice clean sharp well exposed b&w negs.

Incidentally, Lomo called it analogue photography, which always annoys me because analogue cameras actually use electronic sensors and don't take film.
http://www.aegis-elec.com/products/sony-analog.html
http://www.digicamhistory.com/Pansonic%2084proto%20sep.html
nodrog
The other day I spent nearly 3 hours going around to different stores trying to find my usual prefered film, Fuji Reala. None available. In fact the only film I could find Kodak Ektar 100. It was refridgerated but passed its expiration date. I'm afraid the handwriting is on the wall. The city I reside in has a population of 400,000.

Mike Gammill
I shoot film every day. Today I went out with a Ricoh KRII Super with Chinon 45mm f2.8 pancake lens (loaded with Fujicolor 200), an Olympus XA (with Portra 160), and a Rollei 35 LED with Tri-X.
Dave Luttmann
What city Gordon? I live in Victoria with a population of about 350,000. I can find film at over two dozen locations.
