Happy Wednesday everyone, great photos today. Out for a hike with a couple of the grandkids, trying to get them interested in photography. Perfect day for a hike, cool weather and plenty of sunshine.

00bQ5y-523705584.jpg.e5d9f77223787b97f9fda4f60b0adab6.jpg

WOW! Great shots all round!
Not posted in a while...but been busy packed the D5100 this trip and not regretted it. Never thought I'd take an Osprey's presence for granted...this guy is a regular visitor to our mooring lines.
(Nikon D5100 (Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3G) 500mm: f/6.3 @ 1/500s: ISO 100)

00bQBm-523807584.JPG.8a2e83105b799f038163b2e37de8b518.JPG

Good Wednesday, all! We had a heavy, wet snow today that turned out to be less than predicted. But still was coming down hard for awhile. I found this Great Blue Heron apparently holding out against the snow. At least it looked that way.

00bQC2-523817684.jpg.b40fa888943345ffdbfa2818b2d7702c.jpg

Some recent late night handheld snaps around the neighborhood, testing out Nikon's excellent VR on the V1 with 10-30mm VR zoom. Much as I like Ricoh's pocketable GX100 the sensor based anti-shake is no match for Nikon's lens based VR.
