jessica_jones7
I still learned a great deal from everyone, though! Things to keep an eye out for in the future ;] What's funny is somehow I ended up (through google) on another forum post with a similar problem as the topic, and someone had mentioned they had (twice) ended up with a filter attached to a purchased lens. Why I didn't think to check my own is beyond me!!
george_shihanian
I didn't get a chance to comment before the answer was found. Glad it was that simple!

While your OM-1n is rugged and good for backpacking, You might want to look up an Olympus XA or a Stylus for that and save even more space and weight.
jessica_jones7
@George... I have got a fantastic water/dust/shockproof Panasonic Lumix that I bring everywhere for its wonderful picture quality and convenience. It pretty much has me covered in any situation, but I like to also sacrifice space and weight for some classic photos as well, which is why I have also lugged around Polaroid Land cameras to various places literally over my shoulder along with a backpack and front pack. The Olympus is just a much more rugged and smaller version of that for me, though I know myself and will probably end up carrying around all 3 cameras because every shot is totally worth it to me! Haha!
john_hermanson2
Glad you found the solution. I was guessing you had a macro lens set to macro mode only or something along those lines. If you ever need service, I'd be happy to help. I've been overhauling Olympus OM for more than 35 years. John
jessica_jones7
Thank you John! I will probably take you up on that sometime, I just started my first dark room class so I am getting into the nitty gritty!
