staltzy47
After 35 years of using created energy in the form of x-rays to compose images of the inside of humans, animals, birds, and mummies I switched to using reflected light to produce what I hope will become interesting images of the outside of subjects. I am humbled by the great and creative images I see on this site. It is all so different from the constraints of the medical imaging profession. I currently use all formats using Canon,Nikon,Mamiya,Graflex,Bronica, and a Tachihara 4x5 fiel camera. So much to learn,so little time. Thank you to all who wish to comment on my efforts they will be much appreciated!

tom_bloomer1
Oh but many of the fundamental "constraints" of diagnostic imaging (radiographs) apply to photographs. Exposure, dynamic range, processing chemistry (for film of course), geometry and perspective . . . and above all painstaking care in composition. There's a lot of technical stuff you already know that will provide you with a big advantage in the learning curve. After all, photography can be a very technical art.

I lived in St. Augustine very briefly in 1993. It is on my bucket list of places to return with a camera.
stanley_westfall
Hi Donald & welcome from a fellow new member. I just signed up myself and was getting ready to do my intro when yours caught my eye.
The wife & I have relatives in Middleburg, FL & we are coming to see them come mid-May. We will be there 5-6 days and are retired. The relatives are not so we will be doing nothing but photo excursions during the time they are working. We are already going to the rookery at the Alligator Farm for 1-2 days but are looking for other places, even off the beaten path, where we can maximize our photo opportunities. If you have some ideas, fire away! :-)
Looking forward to seeing some of your photos!............Stan
