A good Nikon Wednesday to everyone! Something a little different for me this week. Have been working with a local group tied to our county Fire & Rescue department. They get some funding in exchange for getting more people signed up for the county's emergency alert network ... and we got a grant written to fund a media system they'll use in that PR work. Our first outing was a green-screen shoot at a kid-oriented open house at large performance venue. The group had pirate props ... so, pirate stuff it was (hey, I just do the technical consulting, here!).

So, this was a challenging intersection of my IT, showbiz, and photography backgrounds - and we had several hours of non-stop kid shooting, with instantly e-mailed chroma-key pirate shots showing up on parents' smartphones and now littering a hundred Facebook pages. Each image carried a text banner with county emergency alert system info - PR mission accomplished! Needless to say, I trotted out gear from two of my favorite manufacturers: Buff lighting, and Nikon cameras/lenses. Add a little Eye-Fi, some Darkroom event software, a couple of laptops, a pile of stands and cables, a mobile Verizon hotspot, and ... presto! So, here are a few scenes of the scene.

00bMvj-520771584.jpg.3811a64ef6e87dfea4ce7e39b170a9ed.jpg
