jessica.
I have an F4 that has not been used in about 1.5 years. I just put fresh batteries in it and loaded a roll of film. There seems to be a slight shutter delay (manual settings were F8 @ 1/1000) with a 70-210 Nikkor AF lens. It appears the film is advancing but after each click of the shutter the LED light blinks rapidly.
I am not quite sure what is wrong, but after each picture is taken I have to turn the camera off then on again in order for the shutter to work again.
johnw63
Which LED light ? The one by the rewind knob ?

I found this is the manual:

"If any abnormality occurs during the film advance, the red alert LED blinks and the shutter locks.Open the camera back and reload the film. "

jim_gardner4
Load the film again and set the film speed manually (it may be the the dx code cant be read) and try again. If no good put on manual focus and take all filters off the lens and try again. Let us know how you get on.
david_estler
My F4 does the same thing. It sat unused for a couple of years. New batteries, loading & unloading the film several times, nothing seems to help/
