stephen_ascherl
Is there any Nikon F to LTM adapter? I wish to use a Nikon micro 55mm f3.5 with a Visoflex.
john_robison3
I think there might be but not sure. Would this be only for high magnification shots? With a Viso pushing the lens way out from the film plane I doubt you could get much less than 1:1.5 if that. In other words such a combo would only be good for extreme close up.
SCL
You don't say which Visoflex you're considering, but I'm guessing it is a Version I. I've never seen a Nikon F->LTM adapter, and a 55mm lens on a Visoflex pretty well guarantees you'll be literally right on top of your subject. You certainly could make one, but I personally don't think it will be worth the effort. The 65mm Elmar, which is the shortest focal length lens made by Leica for use with its Visoflex II & III models, has its rear element extending back behind the rear of the focus mechanism. If I was you, before proceeding on this quest, I would take a cardboard tube and cut it to the appropriate length, and just try out this thought to see if it meets your needs.
stephen_ascherl
...oh yes, for close up work only, and with Viso II...the micro Nikon is such a fine lens (and low priced!), and it's a pity not to use it for something?...but thank you, I didn't know the 65mm Elmar had that type of rear element...the cardboard tube is a great suggestion...
fred_c1
I never understand why people want to go the hard way of using adapters (plus Visoflex in these case) when (Nikon) film bodies are so cheap and plenty these days.
Alex_Es
There are plenty of Nikon to LTM adapters around. (Check Cameraquest.) I have no idea, however, how your setup would work on Visoflex. if worst come to worst you can use the adaptor with wide angle Nikon SLR lenses and range focus. Or save up for the Leica M. It's live view will do it for you.
frank_scheitrowsky1
Why not splurg and spend $50 on a Nikkormat body?
