Thanks very much everyone. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time is the biggest key.

Bob B. I like the Tamron 18-250 and yes I would buy it again. It fits my needs. I need something that can shoot long or wide at a moments notice. I don't have time to change lenses nor am I that careful with my equipment so changing lenses could possibly not be a good thing. I used to carry two lenses: the Pentax 16-45 and the Tamron 70-300, but started looking on ebay and got the Tamron 18-250 for a pretty good price.

I would actually like some nicer primes or a better quality zoom lens, but that's what fits my budget right now. Besides camera gear there is hiking gear and fly fishing gear to buy also.

I do need to slow down more at some point and try to plan shots/scenes/weather/lighting and use a tripod like Ansel Adams and other great landscapers, but I'm usually hiking with other people who wouldn't have the patience to wait up for me.
And when Justin used to post comments, something he said kind of stuck in my head. He said the best equipment in the world doesn't always get the best shots or something to that effect.
And thanks to so many great tips by all of you, I've gotten better at post processing of images. I try to get the best shot in camera, but a little burning, dodging, and sharpening helps. Even Ansel did that. And again on a budget I'm still using Elements 6.
He sold me on Pentax and I'm glad he did. As I said, I'm not very careful as well as the ice, snow, rain, sun, heat from the great outdoors.
I noticed I'm getting less dust on my sensor by not changing lenses so much.

My favorites this week:
Dave S - Rehoboth Beach
Dave H - #3 Looks like an Audubon pic
Ryan - #3 Who needs space aliens? Great lighting job.
Jemal - #1 - Really nice composition
Nick - #1 - the colors really grab me
Matt - #1 That's a master shot - a perfect capture of the light.
Bob- If one can see a deity from a photo, I'd say the photographer nailed it. Woody Allen said "that 90% of success in life is showing up". You were there. And you were right to hurry.
By the way, I'm in a photo workshop and some of the best pictures are taken by a Pentax K-7 owner (I encouraged her to buy a Pentax). But this week fabulous photos were taken (panoramas) by an IPhone user.
See you next week!

Howard,

Thanks for your comments. Your insights are always insightful. And the Woody comment is totally right on. I, for one, am truly glad I am in the Pentax community.

If my K10D dies, which is never a good thing without a backup, a K5 or whatever the next realm is, I am there.
