Aweful. How horrible to be there and watch how quickly these things can transpire.

A ways back in the late 80s maybe, a newly married couple, both I'm pretty sure, were killed in their limo in NY pulling

into the reception by a car involved in a street race.

I found it, 1987, the groom and best man, Long Island.

My condolences to the bride and her family. The question comes to mind is will the photog be liable in any way? What if the location was chosen by the photog or the idea of dipping into the rapid originated by the photog?

I am very careful not to sacrifice safety for the sake of getting a hero shot but still when the bride is wearing hells, anything could happen in a photoshot.

Dave Haas, I'm not sure, I 'm really sad to say there are several of these. 2004 I think was a limo whacked in NY by a

pickup truck, I think the flower girl was killed and that might be the one, but it was the PU driver found DUI. Man, can you

believe this conversation, it's just totally aweful, aweful.

I was doing a wedding a few years ago, on the lake. They couple wanted sunset images. Timing is critical. Well the time was fact approaching and I was getting antsy. Asking people where the bride was, why wasn't she here, etc. Found the mother and said unless the bride gets here quick we will lose the sun. Yeh, I was acting like I was in large and in charge. I was important, inflated ego, etc.

Suddenly several cell phones starting ringing and people were rushing to leave. Some were in tears. I though oh great, the bride or groom cancelled. I mumbled something to others that by gosh I was still going to get paid. Then one gentlemen took me aside and explained to me that the bride had been killed in a car wreck.

My ego quickly deflated, I felt like a fool and it was justified. Lesson learned. Suddenly the lighting was not important. Gave the family their deposit back and sent flowers to the funeral.

A few years later on I got to photograph the other daughter's wedding.
