Mine makes a sound like gears jumping into postion. Only last a second but I noticed it happens everytime camera is turn on. The photos are great just noise seems strange. htarragon Posted September 30, 2012 Share Posted September 30, 2012 <p>My original response seems to have disappeared. The noise you hear is the cleaning system shaking the sensor. The mirror is easy to access and clean, the sensor is more difficult. You can probably turn it off at startup through the Setup or Custom menu, but you should leave it on so you don't have to remember to do it.</p> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
