wade_roth
Great stuff so far. Thanks for posting. I caught the guy that's tearing up our cedar siding. I haven't seen evidence of him in about a day. I hope he's moved on.

jeannean_.
I'm really enjoying the photos up so far today. Nicely done! Last week I posted a couple of shots of a Ruby-throated hummingbird. This week I'm posting shots of a Buff-bellied hummingbird (year round residents here in south Texas) in different light. The first is a portrait shot taken in the shade with a Better Beamer dialed down on my SB-600. The second is a natural light shot with the sun coming through the tree, and the third was one of those surprise shots taken in full sun at one of the feeders in my yard. I was watching the little thing, when all of a sudden the head started bobbing and it went to sleep; something I've never seen! (All taken with my D7000. First two with the 500mm and third with the 300mm f/4.)

I never was able to get as close as I would like as they are very skittish.
Hope you enjoy.
tom_serio
Greetings all,
While waiting for a Navy destroyer to pass my hotel window in San Diego, across the bay a C130 was blasting down the runway to catch enough wind to separate from the earth, while the sock and sailboat also were catching wind. Cropped a bit from the original and touched up to accent the colors and reduce the haze effect from shooting far away.

pvg photography
I had posted this photo to the Nikon forum a while ago, but did it again to share my excitement that it has been selected for a local (New Jersey) juried art show. This is the 32nd year for the show and it draws entries from across the United States. The photo was taken in my backyard as fog was settling into the woods on a spring evening. Taken with my D80 using the kit lens.

dave_wilson1
Happy Wednesday all, today's shot is from a local township track meet. There are always lots of moments to catch outside the action, and I thought this young man's intense focus on the activities was a great opportunity. gej_jones
I dug out some photos of the Polar Express Steam Engine for a friend and then started to mess around with a Topaz filter. When I was finished it looked a little like a LeRoy Neiman painting. I like the results! Hope you do too.
