This was taken a few weeks ago at the Mima Mounds, a natural area in the prairie south of Olympia, WA with lots of little grassy hills. There has always been a bit of mystery about the Mimi Mounds with lots of far out theories including, aliens, of course.
I just like the mood of the shot. It's a very peaceful place.

The last hike of the trip. This was the last chance for a cutthroat trout and they weren't cooperating in the least. After two hours I struck paydirt and eventually landed about 4, but the hike to and fro was another amazing jaunt. This image was taken on the trek back from beautiful Odessa Lake. Notchtop Mt looms in the upper right.

00ar0q-497539984.jpg.0925425c27a5715e2913684a1df6ce8d.jpg

Fall colors are peaking around here so I tried to get as much as I could while they last.
Saturday we went for a family hike by the river which is at an all-time low right now.
Yesterday I got up early and climbed a couple of peaks that overlook the largest aspen grove on Earth which is only about 20 Miles from my house. Unfortunately some fires in Wyoming made it a bit hazy.
Despite the haze, the views were still pretty nice from a little over 13,000 Ft!

A lot of great magnificent eye-candy for a nature photographer this week.
Howard, your macros are so intimate. That first shot really blew me over, and the lighting of the green leaf is cool too.
Bob, quite a lens you have there, can't say I've seen any one else who uses it. Nice macros there.
Both Bob and Matt are doing there best to remind me that the immediate world that I find myself isn't all cornfields and cities. Thanks for the journey.
