lolver
Impossible have a Kickstarter project on the go, an Iphone image to Polaroid gadget. 'Impossible Instant Lab'
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impossible/impossible-instant-lab-turn-iphone-images-into-rea

Looks cute. Not an original idea of course, there was the Vivitar one for putting 35mm slides onto peel-aparts. And a more substantial kit that did all sort of sizes - who's name escapes me though.
I've signed up. A bit pricey, but I like the concept, and with a digital source (iPhone), you could upload any digital images for making into 'Polaroids'.

lolver
I know, I know. Well, Impossible can't do 55, you can have 8x10 if you've got the developing kit and much money.
Perhaps this group will deliver something:
Polaroid 4x5 re-formula http://new55project.blogspot.co.uk/
john tonai

I want 55 type Positive Negative film back not gadgets.

2145 people have pledged $455,127 toward this project so far. In fact, they reached their goal only 30 hours after the campaign started. Someone wants this to work.
MathewDH
If I had a choice, I would like to see one of the type 40 roll films made again. It fits the early model 95 cameras and there is no shortage of them or parts from donors. I have a complete unit and would love to try shooting with it. Converting it to standard roll films had been considered but I would prefer to be purist on this model of camera.

CHEERS...Mathew
larrydressler
EPA Has people like you in their eye.... :-) What killed Polaroid other than stupidity was that they made a dry print.... The wet prints from the early days were a nightmare... Imagine that pink fixer tube that you had to put over the print and then return promptly to the tube....

I loved it.. But Seeeeeeems Science is a 2 way street. :-) The SX70 was outstanding a folding camera wit a friggin F8 or so lens that had a bright viewfinder.... Auto focus and so many other things.. Sonar on sub $30 camera? and other things?
MathewDH
I never got to use the model 95 camera but liked its styling. The dream was to convert the thing to a digital sensor. Probably impractical so I can see why people like to mount the Glayflex backs onto the earlier models. I was going to try out my Kodak #4 Bullet but the film isn't around now. Sigh. :-)

Mathew Hargreaves
starshooter
I told them young whippersnappers that the Polaroid idea was a lot of hooie. Nothing can replace good old dip-and-dunk film, by George. I know a dude who bought Polaroid stock at $2 a share and it went up to over $200 but where are they now.
sumo_kun
This is the ultimate hipster gadget.
The pricing in the "limited editions" is crazy.
If the impossible guys can make the film as stable as the original polaroid stuff and make it cheaper, I'd be happy. And yes, Type 55 would be awesome.
mark_satola1
Ditto everything, Chuk Tang. Re; Type 55, see here:
http://new55project.blogspot.com
They seem to be taking their time, which is a good thing. Impossible Project brought a faulty product to market too quickly, then compounded the mistake by hooking up with the premium-priced hipster hucksters at Lomography. My money's on New 55.
