When does engagement season begin?

<p>Do you all think I'd be correct in assuming that engagement season begins in the fall, and that many brides will be "shopping" for photographers for the summer of 2013 in late fall/winter/early spring?</p>

<p>I guess there's no one answer to your question. I booked most of the 2012 weddings in the fall of 2011 (after September) up to until Feb. 2012. For inquries more than 12 months out, I found there to be a lot of tire kickers as they still have time on their hand.</p>

<p>I'm already half booked for 2013 summer. Engagement length is getting longer and longer these days. But will I get bookings for 2013 summer in March right after valentines, yes it's possible too. The higher budget weddings tend to book much further in advance though.</p>

<p>I don't think it ever stops.... Engagements and weddings happen 12 months a year now... </p>

<p>I do agree that brides / couples who are looking further out, usually are kicking the tires. They start to get real serious about 9 months out. </p>

<p>I live and work in New England, where the wedding season <strong><em>generally</em></strong> runs from May-October. I'm almost half-booked for next year already. I suppose if you live in a warmer climate that there isn't really a true 'wedding season', but lots of couples I work with are reluctant to have winter weddings due to the many issues that snowstorms bring to travel. That said, I have one December wedding booked for this year, but I don't have them very often.</p>

For us bookings really seem to ramp up 1 -2 months directly after Christmas and New Years. I agree with David, engagements are really happening all the time now.
