Mamiya RB67 light leak or just anomalous phenomenon?

Hi folks,

I have searched the forum for similar thread without success, so here goes..

I was just wondering if anyone has encountered this kind of problem before?

It is the white streak that lies vertically on the image on the left side

have noticed this strange thing a couple of months ago and it is always on the left side of the negatives, but never really got bothered by it since I thought it was a the lab's faults. Not until when nearly a roll of mine went to waste because of this.

It happened intermittently, before it was only once in a while (say 3 rolls) but now it has become more pronounced. The last 2 rolls, 4 out of 20 shots suffered this problem. I have with me a 6x4.5 back which has never exhibited anything of the same sort but I have not used that back extensively enough to fully substantiate on my speculation about the 6x7 film back having a worn-out foam.

Having looked closely at the film emulsion themselves and there seem to be no anomaly at all. Also, the white streak doesn't always appear in the first frame, in fact, it's never happened to the first frame of a roll. I've also heard about how you would get that streak if you leave your camera with no dark slide for a long time, however, it is not true in my case. I am the type of shooter who would just finish a roll pretty quickly (say, 2-3 hours of walking around) and for the majority of the shots that has that problem, the interval between shots was quite inconsiderable (less than 30 minutes - some cases, 15mins)

So does anyone know what can be the potential source of problem? I've been inclined to blame it on either the rotating back's or the film back's light seal as they're quite worn out actually. But I just need to hear from someone who suffered the same fate with me.

Thanks a lot for your help :)

P.s: I just made a fool out of myself for not checking the forum thoroughly enough. There is one similar issue has been raised in the Mamiya RB category. With my apology. I can't delete this now :(
