Great hot weather picture, Matt—cool and refreshing. Glad to see you're still able to lead off despite the storm damage in your area.

I probably didn't use the smartest settings for this one. Had just walked outside after shooting in a dimly lighted bowling center, was distracted by talking on the cell phone, and wanted to grab this before it went away, which it promptly did.

00aZjn-479387684.jpg.6dd7d94977584dd69bf28b22946f21ba.jpg

Happy 4th of July! Robert and Mark, so sorry about your dogs. :( This baby Black-necked Stilt is the sole survivor and is fiercely protected by the parents. I guess I didn't look too threatening, because they allowed a couple of photos before they decided to move. (D7000/500mm@1/1600, f/6.3, ISO 320)

Good Wednesday morning to all.
Robert Wayt, so sorry for the loss of your little dog.
Mark, sorry to hear about the eye problem that your little Pug is having.
Jose, I love the photo of your daughters saluting in front of the Civil War uniform.
I am reading a book titled "Cain At Gettysburg" and the NY Irish brigade is mentioned quite a bit
in the book.
Attended a wedding this past Saturday in Pittsburgh and caught this photo of the flower girl and ring bearer walking down the isle.

00aZl2-479423584.jpg.8ac802f70bd5b3f01278f453b63a18c5.jpg

Robert, so very sorry about Buddy. They do become part of the family and are a great loss.
Even though it was a very hot morning with no breeze, it made for wonderful reflection shots.
Hope you enjoy.

00aZlB-479431584.jpg.ce618e10dc66ab32faf3a0475b0db067.jpg

Lots of great pictures, as always. I didn't have time to contribute to the thread recently. New addition to the family as well as the fact I shoot lots of film on my Yashica TLR. My family and I got a chance to get out to see a firework show downtown Chicago, I managed to capture some street shots with my Nikon d300.

00aZlc-479447584.jpg.9b45815e0d1ab5a76a73598166f1b012.jpg

A very inspiring set of photos already this morning... thanks everyone! This photo was made in our backyard yesterday as our grand daughter cooled off in a low sprinkler to get relief from a 100 degree heat index in Port Washington, WI (usually cooler near the lake).

00aZn6-479499584.jpg.2d3f1794e5abf9d0eaf0ca1c8293c3af.jpg

Happy wednesday!
Bashar Alshabi and Bob Dein: excellent portraiture!
I had some fun with an old Ai-Nikkor in the garden.
The Ai 24/2 renders out-of-focus highlights rather expressive :-)

00aZnG-479501584.jpg.43958a8c3fc552fa497808c814001546.jpg
