picturesque
Getting back to Themes for the WPOW, this week's theme is Funny!. That's right, post your funniest wedding photo, and talk about why the photo is funny to you. Make sure it is 700 pixels or less in width and/or length - AND - make sure to enter a caption in the caption box on that page where you've uploaded. Some technical details about the shot would be helpful.

This is not a contest - but simply a discussion of art and technique, with illustrations. Positive as well as constructive suggestions are what will occur. HOWEVER - IF you wish to post your image but DO NOT WANT to be considered for critique - please say so in your caption. Images that show as a link will be deleted and you'll be asked to re-post.

Newcomers and Pros are both welcome to post in this thread. You can start discussing immediately. ;-)

picturesque
Marten, when you fill out the response box and confirm, a window should appear that lets you upload an image. Be sure the image is not more than 700 pixels in either dimension and write a caption.
marten_holmes
Good old Cornwall
I always try to do something creative that I've not done before and capture something of the bride and grooms personality. This shot is inside the hotel where the reception is and we used a couple of periodicals that were on a coffee table. The couple desire to move to Cornwall at some point in the future so it is a little quirky but captures something of their desires.

Shot on D700, 18-55 lens at focal length of 45mm; ISO 320 1/125 at f6.3 with fill flash bounced off ceiling.

Have the groom stand on a chair or box, then clone out the object using surrounding material. Notice the repeating pattern of the leaves.
Nicely done and a clever idea.

personalphotos
I did something similar a couple years ago and should post it but I'm lazy and the files are stored on a backup system that's unplugged and locked in a fireproof safe for long term storage. Basically I had the bride and the 4 groomsmen on a large picnic table and they jumped off the table. Then I cloned out the table. It looked pretty good (love the expressions when people try to smile and also keep from landing on their faces).

If you look at the photo in detail posted by John, you can also see the shadow at his left foot (or our right) and that it is forward of the toe of the shoe. Another giveaway that something was cloned. Plus a perspective shot couldn't have him the same size as her and her also clutching his jacket that way. Fun shot.
