ilkka_nissila
Last winter I saw McCurry give a talk in Helsinki. To the inevitable equipment question he answered that he currently uses a D3X with 24-70/2.8 pretty much for everything. He said a 50mm lens and a flash might be in the bag somewhere.
larry_miller5
Steve was using a 50mm a lot. Maybe he still is. That's a very under-appreciated lens. What I'm not sure of, is whether he's still shooting any film at all. I believe that a "road trip" can be covered with a 20, 50 and an 80-200. (Or maybe a 75-150E). On film that is.......
Tim_Lookingbill
I'ld settle for a 28-135mm road trip lens but they're rare and way too expensive for my Pentax K100D. I have an old '80's Vivitar 28-135 junk drawer lens that produces way too much flair for what it's worth which was free.

A modern digital version would be so sweet if I could afford it which I can't.
