A good Nikon Wednesday to everyone. I was going to post something spring-like, since it is indeed feeling pretty springish these days. But I was distracted by Mervyn Wilmington's post about the venerable Nikon 60/2.8 Micro AF-D. And that made me recall a shot from the other day (using that very lens), while I was documenting a commissioned piece of art jewelry on its way to its new owner. The sterling silver pendant is acid-etched, and serves as a platform for a red obsidian stone that was found by the client. It was too interesting a piece not to photograph it! Pointed a Nikon macro lens at anything lately? I know some of you have, because you can't help yourselves. Here is mine for the week. I like the way my eye moves around the frame. Enjoy. Nikon D700 + Nikon 105mm Macro D.

00a6kh-448147584.jpg.dd807f2b6da0c5e6eda7c018f04344a8.jpg

Hi all, it's been a couple months. I haven't had much time to shoot lately but I have been checking out the great diversity of shots each week. Always inspirational. Thanks to all for your time and creativity.

My son balances a treat on his dog's nose and instructs her to "leave it." The dog patiently obeys as my son repeats the command a few more times every few seconds. Finally, my son says, "OK!" and the dog -- in a blindingly fast motion -- flips the treat a few inches above her snout and snatches it out of the air. Hard to tell who gets the most enjoyment: the dog devouring the treat or the humans watching it all unfold.

00a6kk-448151584.jpg.0c5dbc635bdc2dde9ddd842b2f31363d.jpg

I was sitting at the dining room table and noticed these tulips at their last.... I'd just recently gotten hold of a Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/4 and so decided the moment had come to give it a first run. Hand holding at f/11 indoors meant not too many were in excellent focus. So I added my SB-600 which helped.

00a6lF-448159584.jpg.92c72386d6518137db0c99509838e0c4.jpg

Happy Wednesday to everyone. First off, I would like to thank Ann Overland and Young James for mentioning my picture last week.

I was hoping to go out again today and try to capture some new stuff, but mother nature was not cooperating with me, so here's another picture from the same session as last week.

00a6m6-448175584.jpg.343e394d8f37406cbd720879db9eb7d6.jpg
