Good lab in NY/NJ that still develops chrome?

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I ventured into 120 film and now am shooting more and more via Mamiya 6 and Rolleiflex. I want to check and see if anyone can recommend a good lab in NY/NJ area that still does chrome? I shoot Velvia as well as a variety of color negatives but the fact I have to send the Velvia out separately from the negatives is pretty annoying. Also, I am afraid of trying new places now after giving Unique Photo 3 rolls on 2 occasions and I see fingerprints and scratches on all of them, one even had an unevenness like it was bent!
Please recommend a good lab for me. I am only interested in the development and I don't mind paying slightly higher for quality. Thanks.

George: I use L and I Photo on 22st Street right off 5th avenue in Manhattan. They do all films including Velvia and Portra which I shoot as well. They also furnish a contact print on the negative films. They cut the 120 film in strips of three or four and insert in plastic strips.. The film comes back flat and clean. No curls. They have 24 hours service (or rush in a few hours at higher prices) and will mail the film. Good luck. Alan.

I tried vista+crc and they are pretty good, even included binder sleeves and a cardboard inside the envelope to keep them flat. I will try my next batch with l&i to see which one is better. These guys are almost next door, and a quick walking distance to Adorama and PATH. I am in heaven! Thanks guys!

I've been using Pro-Lab on Sargeant St. in Clifton, NJ ever since I mentored under a prominent wedding/portraitist 20+ years ago.
All of my C-41 medium format stuff is handled expertly and rates are extremely reasonable. Been a long time since I shot chromes (35mm or big stuff), but was never disappointed when I had pro-Lab process my slides.
