Happy Thursday everyone! I'm happy to say that all five of our goslings are still around and they're getting bigger. I am done with the spring semester and have a few weeks off of school so hopefully I'll get out to shoot some birds while the weather is beautiful. I have been shooting quite a bit around the yard lately, but wouldn't mind getting a little farther from home. Here's a shot of a female eastern bluebird in the yard from this week. They have been trying to nest in a birdhouse, but a territorial mockingbird has been bullying them all week. The birdhouse does appear to have more nesting material in it though, so hopefully the bluebirds are getting in there when he's not looking. I hope everyone is enjoying the awesome spring weather before it gets too hot. Let's see those photos!

00aN6Y-465229584.jpg.2a9170763b18fffce0bcc6156cb1f2ea.jpg

There's been a lot of discussion in the Forums, and all the buzz about the Super Moon!
Well, I missed it, . . . but after a sleepless night on the 8th, I decided to give the moon a shot!
It was taken at 04:08:07 AM
Then I took a straight shot, and went to bed!
And this is starting out to be another sleepless night! Go figure! . . . maybe another shot would help!

00aN6p-465231584.jpg.5d6707e85961da2aa260636372fd0ecc.jpg

There's been so much rain recently, that I haven't done much photography.
This is when the sun was shining.
The winding gear, lighthouse and nuclear power station have all been decommissioned, but still draw crowds of visiters and photographers.
Scanned film - shot with an EOS-1 and EF 70-200/2.8 IS

Last saturday was the bevrijdingspop festival in Haarlem (NL) again. Fire department had a exhibit across the street from the market. This photo is before the grounds were open to the public. Neber did get around to checking them out when we were open. Too busy organizing the market. 5d2, 28-80 2.8-4.0 L

00aN86-465261584.jpg.5b6bf40ae12078a9eb8b843a2c13734f.jpg

I like the bluebird shot, Nathan. Nicely done.
Jim - good moon shot. I'd agree with Bob Atkins, the best moon shots are not the ones with the full moon since there's less shadow detail. You captured fine detail in the craters on the right side.
David Cavan - makes me think of those early shots of NYC that I see. Processing is perfect.
Ervin - getting some good mileage out of that 60 macro, I see. Nice detail.

Birds...let me see what I've got...

It was primary election day here in West Virginia on Tuesday and a couple blocks away from my humble abode the news crews were running amok gathering news so I figured it would be fun to catch the news teams in action. WBOY reporter Stacy Jacobson here appears to be asking directions to the story.

00aNAB-465315584.jpg.326d902e67f921210ec4bd4f1c492a52.jpg
