Let's get them Pentax beauties out here!

I bought a camera last week, came with a SMC Pentax-A 50mm f2 lens. This is a sample shot wide open. I think it came out nice and sharp.

And one more, showing off the shallow DOF and bokeh, such as it is. :)

Picture shows La Martiniere College Lucknow, a school founded with the endowment left by an ingenious Frenchman Claude Martin who had a remarkable career in 18th century India, soldiering, casting guns, running indigo farms, importing a hot-air balloon after hearing of the exploits of the Montgolfier brothers back home. Martin died in 1800 and is buried in the building shown which he named Constantia. The central portion was Constantia, and the wings were added after it became a school. Martin's money was used to build schools in Calcutta and Lyon, his birthplace.

00cK3A-544961684.JPG.a074273f48c8f94c5a89812074837c0e.JPG

I went out to catch the moon a couple of evenings last week. For this shot I get yelled at by a lady walking nearby for harassing the wildlife. The ducks all swam to the other side of the pond when I got close she said she was was calling the cops and that I'm a selfish bastard. I said one word in the exchange, "Oh?". I suspect she was more traumatized than the ducks. The cops never came.

All of the above were taken with the K-5 w/ Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 manual focus. I say this because this next shot was taken at5:01PM meaning that it was dark out with just traffic lights and street lamps for illumination - 1/15 at f/1.8 @ ISO 800.

00cKcf-545036884.jpg.558e333da963ab992b3e5590397db3cc.jpg

Can't let the week go by w/out commenting

Patrick - you need more DoF for dog faces, especially Labs!

I don't need nothin' because that's how I wanted it to look. You shoot your way and I'll shoot mine. But I won't be posting any more here.

Wow what a week to try to start back here. Is Patrick serious?
The last couple of years have been odd and not a lot of time . Hopefully that has changed since I was convinced to return to my old shop.
I always enjoy the talent and diversification of photo's and photog's here.
